Been toying with the idea of getting one for a few months now, only eventually got around to checking them out in store a few weeks ago as the nearest store is about an hour away.

The fact that I'd have to saw it to get it to custom fit put me off for a while too, but I've been reading up a lot about the health benefits of the sit stand desks and seeing as I work so much from home I wanted to give it a punt and do it right.

The motor seems very smooth and not loud.

Same here been pricing them up just this week. Waiting for the company to let me know if they'll pay, it's a lot to shell out, £700. Well worth it though, my back is in pieces having worked from home for 12 hours a day for the last 4 years. Great investment.

Nice, fingers crossed they'll okay it!

The price of the Ikea one is another reason why I decided to make the plunge, they seem good value in comparison to a lot of the other ones out there. £445 for this one.

Yeah that's very good for an electric one. I'll see what the company says but one way or the other I'll be investing within the next few months, well worth it. I work in Occupational Health so the company proactively promotes these type of workstations.

So it turns out that the original 120cm x 80cm top does actually fit....just! I didn't take into account the fact that the edges are curved, so it bypasses the door frame that was restricting me on depth in my head.

It's still super tight though and I can't fit the plug to my lamp down the back of the desk as the plug is too big :(

Will try to use it before a bit before I disassemble it and take a saw to it. Especially now I've spent so long messing with cable management

Now I need to make a little shelf a couple of inches off the ground so I can put my tower flush against the back wall behind one of the legs and get a fresh copy of Windows installed!

I suppose I could mount a fleshlight to the bottom of the desk and set it to oscillate up and down....

Urgghhh...I need to disassemble the desk and bring the base back to Ikea to swap it out as the button is dodgy on this one.

What a faff, takes nearly an hour to get there too.

At least it has a 10 year warranty!
