TBH, I don't mind too much if it means it'll be released with much fewer bugs.

Gives me a bit more time to contemplate upgrading my system too, or whether I'll wait until Q4 for the new Intel chips

Yea can see ya point, optimization must be pretty good though as the minimum specs isn't too bad, we can only hope it has fewer bugs & glitches :)

I played GTA4 on essentially their min specs and it ran well for me

i7 920 at 3.4 and a 4870

Still using my i7 920, albeit at stock 2.6 St the mo and a 7970.

Been trying to hold out upgrading my CPU until skylake, if this is really good though I might by a more recent mobo and cpu second hand

I was running gta 4 on a stock amd 9550 (not the phenom ii 955) and a gtx 480 an never had a issue at medium settings, most games nowadays are gpu demanding anyway, I'm rocking a amd 8350 with a gtx 780 soon to be 2 780s, personally I'd get a i5 4570k in your case if it's only gaming you do :) you need to get advanced warfare hahaha

Watch it when running two gpu's. not every game likes that setup. Running in Sli or crossfire gives many players loeds of errors on different games.

usefull vid:
skip to 1:51

Yeah, very much dependent on the game I believe.

I still try to go for the best single card I can get. We'll have to wait for the reviews and benches to see if dual gpu works well or not for GTAV.

Remember that video is nearly 2 years old now so the benchmarks and driver info might not be as relevant.

I've been debating though to be honest, keep the 780 an sli it, or flog the 780 and grab a 970 or 980 (to be honest the price to performance ratio 980 vs 970 is that minor, the 970 wins hands down) plus I gain a extra 1gb of vram for future proofing, plus I only game at 1080p at 60hz so 2 cards would be overkill in a way

True Robinhood, skip the part of the benchmarking but the pros and cons haven't change imo. The recent problems people have with sli setups on the last games including ghosts and Advanced warfare is an alarm bell.

Jaja, the pros an cons listed are the same.

Maybe Rockstar will take the PC market seriously and optimise for dual cards considering how much effort and tie they've taken to put into it though. We shall have to wait and see!

They need to work more alongside the gpu developers. Cause usually it is a driver issue wich isn't supported in the game.
i know it isn't easy with the different PC setups that exists among the players. Result is that they fix something for 1 complainer group and mess up for the ones that didn't have a problem before...

That's is why they put more effort in consoles. At least you know the games made for a specific console will run...(some minor connectivity problems excluded)
