3v3

Lo guys we need to complete this 3v3 compo, so my idea is, if there are no more wars planned before sunday then the two teams who have won there first games will go into the final which will be on sunday night.

Two teams are Speedys guys and Toms guys. Please let me know if there are any problems with this, as i said earlier we need to complete it asap.

One last thing in my opinion i thought it would have been a great compo for all of us to take part in, but there has only been two games that have taken place, am sure if you guys tried a bit harder to sort the wars out it would have been completed weeks ago.

I think everyone fell victim to getting all their team on at the same time. People have enjoyed this, and those who haven't played really want to, I think 5 man squads next time still 3v3 min though

5 man?? People are having trouble getting their 3 man teams online all the same time lol 5 man may be even worse.

I think the problem we have is a lot of people signed up but not many of them seem to be able to make the time to play, I know real life is more important and things come up that prevent people from playing, but if you know your not likely to be able to play then dont sign up, or withdraw yourself from the comp.

I know it takes the piss a little coming from me, but shooter worked hard (so he says) to sort this all out.

I think next time we need set dates, so all quarter finals must be played by date x all semis by date y and the final will be on date z.

Also I think one of the problems is that there is no set time to play, which is good in a way as it supposedly allows people to arrange the matches at a time that best suits them. However if we say that all matches take places at 8pm say, we could post up the weeks schedule and get teams to post which days they are available, find two teams with the same day, you got a match, would work better in a league setting probably.

With league also you could have it so if a team does not turn up to a match they get negative points, miss 3 matches and your out!

I dont mind overseeing things like this as lets face it I aint got much else to do lol.

Inter Clan tournaments and leagues are a great idea I think, but it cannot be down to anyone person to arrange it and sort it all out, we all need to make an effort.

Oh yeh also one issue we have is the fact that not everyone can set up the match server, so this makes arranging matches a pain as if no one is online that can do it, we are buggered, at least one member from each team needs to be able to set it up else we are relying on one or two people again to be online at the right time, unless things are arranged in advanced.

And I know this may sound cheeky coming from and I really do not mean to sound like an ass, I know real life comes first and this is just a game, but I thought I would share my thoughts and ideas.

I have to agree on most issues with Tom.

Requiring more players to play at the same time will complicate it even more. I think 3 v 3 is a nice format (though I haven't been able to play my match yet) but we need some flexibility of some sort. If i'm not mistaken the proposition of 'subs' has been made on TS by I-don't-remember-who-but-i-still-credit-him/her... and personally i think of this as a good idea.

When a player cannot participate at a certain moment a sub can replace him without having to play other matches further in the tournament. When signing up for the tournament and when you realize that you're not free for most of the time you can register yourself as a sub, when you're avaible and needed you can play. If you can't play you don't hold up the complete tournament table...

A time table for matches should improve speed and such of the tournament though may be sometimes dificult to comply with as not everybody will be available at the same time. (The time differences between certain countries enlarges this problem) A deadline date such as all semi finals must be completed on XX/XX/XX if not = forfait for both teams/team that did not show/...? is a good measure as well, if you ask me.

I agree with you both, but perhaps you have missed my point, 5 man squads with a 3v3 minimum, that way if 2 of you squad can't play the match can still go ahead, what you have to bear in mind is if you look at the size of FFF as a clan and then look at clan match sign ups, you probably have about 15-20% sign up (this is a guess but hey 75% of statistics are made up), alright you have a certain amount of members who would not want to play a competitive match, but a lot of it is real life commitments.

Poins taken off all of you and thanks for your comments, this compo has been running for close on 5 weeks now, so am sure that within the 5 week period that there has been members online playing in the server who could have been playing there round in the comp, this is were am coming from, maybe for the exception of 1 team who had Hugo and trinny.

This thread was not created as a rant and rave it was all about getting the final wars played out and the final done to annouce the winners in the up and coming pod cast.

Regarding further comps, ladders ect i think we are too close to MW3 to start off again in Blops, we will just wait to get MW3 up and running then take it from there, then if we do carry on then Tom you can do the admin side of it that will be cool with my help too.

Agree with tom set a match time if team dont show they lose, not into subs idea to much though, all depneds on the sub right ?
One of your guys cant make it and a very good player happens to be available it gives advantage to the team that couldnt even raise there full squad.

So we set a comp 3v3 is fine btw worked really well. Set match timetables for pre advertised nights so guys dont sign up if you dont do sundays or thursdays or whatever days are mentioned. Only sign if you can play, play on time or lose, matches go to timetable no matter what Simplz.
