Not really, I think it's only costing him about $1000 a month on electric at the moment.

You're right as in if you were to buy all the equipment new now you'd have a tough time making your money back, however if he bought the equipment or gradually built his rig over the last 12-24 months there's a good chance he's made some serious mula from it
