What anti-cheat will be used?
Anti-cheat is a top priority for Call of Duty®: Black Ops II. We have developed our own proprietary server-side anti-cheat technology which will work alongside VAC to deliver the most advanced detection and banning capabilities of any Call of Duty game to date. We have also improved our player reporting system to make it the most effective way that you can help us catch cheaters. And starting on launch day we will have a full-time dedicated pc anti-cheat team focused solely on detecting and banning cheaters. We have a zero tolerance policy on cheating. Cheaters bans are permanent.

Will Black Ops have Matchmaking or Dedicated Servers?
Both! Call of Duty®: Black Ops II PC combines matchmaking with secure ranked dedicated servers. This means that you get into Public Matches or League Play via matchmaking lobbies. It is easy to party up and play with your friends. You can adjust your classes or scorestreaks between matches. It also means that every Public or League match is hosted on a dedicated server running in one of our high bandwidth datacenters around the globe.

Will you release the server files?
No. We are keeping the server files secure to protect the game from hacking and cheating and ensure the ranking and progression system integrity.

Can I rent a server?
No. We are providing a huge number of servers around the world at no extra charge – plenty for everyone to enjoy. And we will administer the servers.

Will there be mod tools?
No. As we continually improve and advance our in-house tools for our own content teams we are unable to provide consumer tools due to increased technical requirements, licensing restrictions, and technology dependencies.

interesting, so there are dedicated servers to use for matches, but how will the gamer configure them for set rules :/

just one of them things they don't want us to have.

None the less, i think im used to the matching system now and its not that bad.

Oh dear.....if the only form of anti cheat is their own detection tools and we can't have control of our own dedicated server to kick people I'm not sure how it'll pan out.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how well it works.

At least the matchmaking will be good for teamwork and hopefully game play should be smooth with real dedicated servers.

The rest will rely on how good their automatic cheat detection is. Reporting players is pretty pointless and it takes too long for something to action and they could just be a genuinely good player.

As far as am concerned if we dont have total control over a server there is always going to be an element of cheating, and what wehave all seen in MW3 there are hackers all over the place, and i for one will not be putting up with another 12 months of bullshit hackers.

Time to think of sorting a new game out for FFF... :-(

Dont all fps games have cheats in them. I only played Cod, so did CS never have cheats.... are there are cheats in battlefield or not ?

Having control over kicking is one thing but a new game for the clan ? i cant see it happening, as with every game that gets released, we will all buy it whine about cheaters and still play it every day.

Every other game that gets released we play it for a few hours then go back to Cod, that wont change. So we will play BO 2 and put up with the hackers as usual and moan about them as usual. I cant see what else we can do.
Not having dedis is a massive dissapointment for me and just tells me that the devs dont care about what we really think or want, they just do what is best for them, but as i said before, we will all buy it and they will make there money no matter what they release so why would they care. So boys get ready for the tubers and the last stand and marty warriors and ofc our good old mates Mr Wallhacker and Mrs Aimbot.

Same game diffrent name. But i will just wait and see.

It's real shame, dedi servers create clans and help to grow gaming clans. Also we would have had full control of the game playing to our requirements. Plus we'll have to put up with hackers again......... They have all said they will have anti cheat, but these do not work and the game developers couldn't give a dogs plop about cheats. All they are interested in, is obtaining more money and forcing players to shell out extra wedge for game developments that should have been in the finished game upon release date. Oh good, £30 for the game, plus another £20/£30 for bits they decided to leave out in the first place.
Poor show TBH.

yeah there are cheats in css speedster thats what put me off playing it, the gameplay is brilliant on that game and if there were no cheats id spend more time playing it, yes there are cheaters in battlefield 3 but they are rare compared to the amount you stumble upon day in day out in cod and punkbuster is a very good program at weeding them out and banning them, plus they have dedis and a reporting system too and me personally am in no rush to go buy blops2, it may be a long before i do if i do

Well even though i am not a full member yet i will just post my opinion
I myself will buy it and give it a fair chance like i did with every other call of duty. If there really will be way too many hackers and
it actually sucks than i will probably just go back to another call of duty or play another game.But I think it deserves a chance. Hope to see you all playing it too lol

but why don't we all not buy it to make that company go to hell?? i want back punkbuster and dedis.. and the fun we all had in cod4 with the clan. whatever u all say, that was the days!

as long we keep buying the game and put up with the hackers and shit. they will keep making games, where the hackers keeps bugging us... we shouldn't tbh not follow... what we all seen all they care about is the money.. not us!

man oh man, I was thinking of coming back to gaming land for BO2... but now I read this... not sure if I want to spend all that money for a game with no dedis and good anticheat.

Well well, I would go for a game with dedi servers. The clan base games is why i am playing multi and not single. If we did not have TS then I guess that would have been the end of gaming and or (FFF). In the Dedi days I can not remember that there was any bad mouthing in the in-game chat......but there were also a lot less hackers... If MOH is even close in game play like in COD4 and with Dedi servers then I would go for that. Even with Dedi servers it took some time to pick up a hacker so I can not see how they will implement the anti cheating. At this point I will not buy BO2.
