So, after the palaver of my machine turning itself off and not coming back on, the spark and the weird burning smell i tried to play MWR and it wouldnt go past 30 FPS. Turned all the settings down to low or off and it wouldnt go past 14 FPS so i did a benchmark and these are the results...

Summat's gone pretty wrong so looks like i need a new CPU/Mobo and possibly RAM too. Not sure if i can afford it atm (being a spanner and all) so i may be out for a bit

What PSU have you got cos I'd look there first, if components aren't getting the right voltage they ain't gonna perform. If you can get a hold of a different PSU try that first. Corsair is a lifetime warranty so just RMA your sticks once you try a new PSU and there is no improvement

Ah Cannon you secksi bastard, ya. Skell gave me the idea of testing the PSU earlier but since it sparked and all that i kinda let it go and focused on the CPU cos thats where the spark came from. I'm gonna buy that voltage tool from amazon b4 i commit to spending a big wad of cash

For now it seems to be fixed. I hooked up my PSU to a checker thingy, re-seated everything and swapped both ram sticks 1 slot over and so far it seems to be working fine.

No idea what caused the spark or the burning plastic smell but I think this is a sign I need to upgrade my mobo/processor sharp-ish

Oh, there were no blown caps either

It sound`s like over heating, cheak the cooling,maybe there`s a fan down?
